For a Concert Schedule - Hard Night's Day

Concert Review
by Paul Ridenour

Pictures of the band and friends/fans

I have never seen A Hard Night’s Day with past members Chris and Danny for the entire evening. Chris has made appearances here and there on a few songs and perhaps I saw Chris one night on just a couple of songs. There was the occasionally wrong chord and dropped words but that was to be expected. These guys have not played together and practiced together for two years. However, they still tore it up and rocked the house. Chris plays the keyboard like a madman. He tore it up on A Day In The Life on the part where the music swells twice. Even Elton John would have been proud.

The weather was dreadfully cold at 19 degrees and it was snowing a little bit. The streets were icy and I saw many wrecks driving to the club. Even with all of the bad weather, the place was still packed around 8 PM.

I played the much-needed tambourine on “Rain” and want to thank the guys for letting me play. It was an honor to play with these earlier band members.

Danny plays the guitar flawlessly and sings a great John Lennon and even George Harrison.

It was good to see Bryan Adams High 1978 alumni and friend Glen Farris there with his girlfriend Julie Hibbard. For other BA alumni and HND fans, see

It was Scott Harvey’s birthday and he and several others joined the band on stage for “Birthday.”

Sexy Sadie Susan even sang with bassist Mark during “Birthday.”

Mark reminded us all that it is the Christmas season when he said "...and happy birthday to Jesus Christ."

Guitarist Paul Averitt did show up halfway through the evening and played on a couple of songs with the band.

I show their original set list. However, they deviated from it a little bit. They did not play Hey Jude, Instant Karma, Jet, and I Am The Walrus. If they did the latter, I would have been blown away.
