Church records from Vorhele, Westphalia, Prussia (Germany) going back to 1653 show the following:
John Bernard Heiman, Sr., born in 1781,
married Anna Elizabeth Knapkotter in 1809 and died about 1840 - (Dottie Ridenour's 4th great
grandparents)
Children: (Total of 8 children]
Henry Heiman, Sr.
(1826
[April 1824
and age 46 on 1870 Chambers County census] Germany - 1919 Chambers Co) married Mary
Ann Walter (May 1, 1816

10/4/1897) in 1844 in Anahuac. They moved to Smith
Point in the 1860s and purchased 400 acres. Their graves were later moved from
the Heiman Cemetery at Smith Point to Anahuac. Mary Walter's mother was
also Mary Walter (5/2/1799 Germany - 5/12/1885 Texas],
but age 73 on the 1870 Chambers County
census.
The 1900 Chambers County census has Henry and Mary Heiman both age 76 which
would be a second source indicating they were born in 1824.
Henry
Heiman Sr.
arrived first in Albany, New York, in 1834, then came to Galveston July 8, 1838.
He fought in the 3rd Texas Infantry.
